Without
future knowledge how will students proceed to the next step; for example, college?
Everything we learn in school helps us by preparing us for the next challenging
step. If our minds aren’t challenged then we won’t know how to get our minds
thinking constructively. If college isn’t student’s goals then teachers can
help them want to go to college. If they don’t want to further their education
then prepare them for real world issues. “Because once they know they are a
real part of this world and can effect change, there’s no telling what kind of influence
they can have on the world around them”. (Duffy) An individual is going to find
what they do best and take it into effect with the world around them. When in
doubt a teacher should teach real world issues to teach students how life would
be if you don’t have an education.
A teacher can’t
make you successful but the material can. Without teachers helping us succeed,
who will? Our parents play a huge role in raising us but what about the
children who don’t have caring parents? It’s important that teachers play a
parents role in education. It’s important that teachers offer tutoring or after
school office hours because some students need extra help understanding. “A new
evaluation by that city’s school system shows that students who completed their
after school programs got bigger test score increases in both math and reading
than non-tutored students did”. (Viadero)With my personal experience I’ll say it’s
highly important for after school help because my parents would be at work and
nobody was there to help with my homework. For me tutoring helped a lot because
my grades were rising. Students who go to tutoring every other day or when they’re
scheduled shows that they have responsibility for their grade. Without responsibly student will always blame
the teacher for not teaching them properly.
It’s very important that kids have someone to look up to
because without that they would have no sense of direction to follow. By teachers
being enthusiastic and full of energy at school is when the students are going
to feel the same vibe. Having fun while teaching keeps students interacting
with the class and yourself as a teacher. When students have that teacher that
makes them feel comfortable in class they will be more open to their
educational needs. For example, a student will go to a teacher for help if they
explain the material in a way a student can relate to. If we don’t have
teachers as role models then how significant does that make their job? Not so much
important because teachers need to be there to inspire young learning minds. Be
the person students what to look up to, not just as a person who grades papers.
When a teacher comes into a classroom excited and joyful, 90% of the students
are going to feel the same exact way. By coming in with spirit sets a mood for
the classroom which helps everybody learn at a fun way. It’s most important
that we teach respect starting from kindergarten. When they start to learn how
to have respect for adults, it will never become a problem in the future.

Sir Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution! - Response
I love how he engages the audience by making them laugh by real world situations. People need to be pushed to wan to get their education, like he said be challenged. By making the generation smart and successful tells people that we have the kind of mind to run the country sufficiently. We now take time for granted, I do myself. I always count on my phone to tell me the time instead of having a clock like the old times. An interesting quote he said was " College starts in kindergarten" That was really interesting because it doesn't. Why should kindergarten be so competitive? I love how he makes life situations a joke because he doesn't agree. I agree that every one has their own talent that pertains to them selves. He's an amazing speaker, I enjoyed listening to him and watching.

“A Passionate Teacher: Teacher Commitment and Dedication
to student learning”, by Cagri Tugrul Mart is the article I did my comparison
to. This article connects to my writing assignment 100% by showing us how
teachers are role models and prepare us for future education/ life. Teachers
spend months and years with your child, wouldn’t you want that teacher to be
the best influence on your child? If I send my child to school every day I want
to know that they’re the best hands. When your child is around someone all the
time, they start to develop the same habits. Every parent wants their child to
have a healthy education. “Passionate teachers know that is their role to
encourage students for an active learning and concern themselves with promoting
students intellectual and moral development” (Mart 438) Passionate teachers
love doing their job and love to pass it on. Parents depend on that teacher to
give their all and prepare them for what they need to know. If you a great
teacher you want the class to look up to you. Make them feel comfortable and
allow them to trust you at what you’re doing. You should want to be that role
model teacher so when the students look back they can say “He/She was my
favorite teacher”. We are around teachers from pre-school till grad school.
Each and every taught us something new that will lead us into the next step.
“There are strong empirical grounds for believing that teachers can and do make
a difference and that consistent high quality teaching, supported by strategic
professional development, can and does deliver dramatic improvements in student
learning “. (Mart 438) Teachers have a huge impact on how students become in
the real world. They can either brake them or make them. Some teachers put an
extensive amount of work into students; on the other hand, you have teachers
who say “You should have been paying attention” The way that you keep focusing
is with different tactics; for example, mini learning games. Games that make
their mind think and they wouldn’t even know it. They also learn from the
various activities, in return they would receive a free homework pass for winning
the game. That also motivates other students by encouraging them to win.
